Dow Jones Sustainability Index Emerging Markets
Our inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes represented a major challenge, since being there means competing with the best performing companies worldwide.
For the second consecutive year Grupo Financiero Banorte was included in the Dow Jones Sustainability index of emerging markets (DJSI Emerging Markets), thereby being the first and only Mexican financial institution in this index.
The DJSI methodology involves a comprehensive assessment of economic, environmental and social criteria with an important focus on the generation of value for investors.
This distinction represents a continuous improvement in the way we operate, our inclusion in the index reflects the Group’s commitment to continue to evolve and develop under best environmental and social practices and corporate governance.
Joining the Dow Jones means that we are indeed incorporating sustainability into the DNA of Grupo Financiero Banorte.
IPC Sustainable Index
For a fourth consecutive year Grupo Financiero Banorte has been selected by the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores to be part of the IPC Sustainability Index.
Socially Responsible Company
For a fifth consecutive year Banorte has earned the distinction as a socially responsible company awarded by the Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía A.C. (CEMEFI).
This distinction recognizes organizations that, as part of their corporate culture and business strategy, are committed to the social development of communities in which they operate.
This award recognizes the work we have done to improve the quality of life for employees, as well as our contribution to the common good of society. All this is based on our principles of: accountability, innovation, loyalty, respect and solidarity.
Great Place to Work
For several years we have been recognized by Great Place to Work Institute Mexico as one of the best companies to work for in the country, occupying an outstanding position among the major banks operating in the country.
This accomplishment is due to the positive assessment by Banorte employees of the existing corporate culture, as well as their views on confidence they have in their leaders and the pride they feel in doing their job, among other topics.
GHG2 Recognition
Received from the Programa GEI México (Mexico GHG program), a national voluntary program for the accounting and reporting of greenhouse gases (GHG). We were the first financial group to obtain this distinction in 2013.
GRI Materiality Matters Check
GFNorte was the first Mexican financial institution to receive the distinctive ' Materiality matters' check issued by the Global Reporting Initiative to highlight those organizations that have successfully passed the verification of their most significant information reflected in accordance with the G4-17 to G4-27 indicators of the international G4 standard.
This achievement positions Banorte as a pioneer in reporting the relevant issues in our business sector and to our stakeholders. Allowing us to better inform the market and society in the field of sustainability.
It is important to note that GFNorte additionally reports on those topics that it manages and have to do with sustainable performance. By following this standard, it lends importance to the fundamental issues required to achieve the Group’s goals and to manage environmental and social impacts.
